Colored Pencil

A dear friend of mine requested a painting of Johnny Cash - I don't normally do portraits. He is in the Peace Corp and was called up sooner than we expected and I really wanted to keep my promise to him. Instead of paint, I worked in the quicker colored pencils and sent it off in the mail hoping he would get it in time before he left for Taiwan. I received and email from him shortly after saying he got it and thanking me for the gift. I miss him a lot and I'm glad I was able to give this to him before he left.
