Otakon theme for 2002 was Hiroko in Wonderland (Alice in Wonderland basically). I was asked to design the Security badge. After some different concepts I decided to stick closer to the Alice in Wonderland theme and used a card (like the queen's of hearts gaurds). But of course, this is anime, so I made it a robot/tech card... A lot of people didn't get the reference to the samurai/robot/playing card thing.
